Quality You Can Feel, Art That Lasts a Lifetime
At Sarah Gallagher Design, we believe your home deserves more than a standard poster. We create art intended to grow with your family—moving from the nursery to the playroom and beyond. To ensure your prints remain as vibrant as the day they arrived, we use only the finest museum-grade materials and sustainable practices.
Museum-Grade Fine Art Paper
We don’t use standard wood-pulp paper. Instead, every piece is printed on 315gsm heavyweight fine art media, providing a substantial, premium feel that resists warping and aging. Depending on your aesthetic, we offer two distinct finishes:
Smooth Cotton High White: A 100% cotton-based paper that offers a silky, sophisticated finish. It is ideal for capturing the fine details of Sarah's watercolor illustrations.
Textured Natural White: A "cold-press" paper with a classic watercolor texture. This provides depth and character, giving the print the look and feel of an original painting.
Archival Excellence & Longevity
"Archival" isn't just a buzzword; it’s a promise of longevity. Our papers and inks are specifically chosen for their chemical stability:
Acid and Lignin Free: Our papers contain no acidic compounds that cause yellowing or brittleness over time.
Buffered pH Levels: Our media is maintained at a neutral pH level of 7.5 to 9.5, acting as a shield against environmental pollutants.
Archival Pigment Inks: We use professional aqueous pigment inks, which offer superior lightfastness and color depth compared to standard dye-based inks.
Sustainability & Ethical Production
We are committed to a "slow-print" movement that respects the environment.
Made to Order: We never hold excess stock. Every print is produced in-house in our UK studio only when you order it, significantly reducing waste.
Recyclable Materials: Both our smooth cotton and textured papers are 100% recyclable, ensuring a circular lifecycle.
Sustainably Sourced: We use high-quality alpha-cellulose and cotton fibers sourced with environmental responsibility in mind.
Plastic-Free Packaging: Your prints are packaged flat in reinforced, plastic-free envelopes to ensure they arrive in gallery condition without unnecessary environmental impact.
Common Questions About Our Prints
Why is 315gsm paper important? Most standard posters are printed on 130gsm–170gsm paper. Our 315gsm paper is more than double that weight, providing a luxury "card-like" feel that won't curl or tear easily.
What does "pH Neutral" mean for my art? Paper with a neutral pH stays white and strong for decades. Standard papers are often acidic, which leads to the "browning" effect often seen in old newspapers.
Are these prints provided with frames? To ensure your art reaches you in perfect condition and to allow you to choose a frame that matches your unique décor, our prints are provided unframed. They are designed to fit standard frame sizes (from 5x7" up to A3) for your convenience.
